When work, family and new ideas come together
At first glance, "workation" might sound like working on your laptop by the pool, sending a few emails between breakfast and sunset, and otherwise enjoying as much vacation as possible. For us, it looked a little different – and somehow also quite typical for Jupiduu.
Because recently, my family and I went to the POST Family Resort. Not just to spend a few nice days together, but also with a small mission: we wanted to personally deliver new Jupiduu products and at the same time take the opportunity to see how our products perform in real everyday life there.
Jupiduu in a real stress test
What's special about the POST Family Resort: some of our products have been in use in the Kids Club for several years.
And anyone who knows children knows: you can hardly wish for a better long-term test.
Here, our products are not carefully set up for a photoshoot, but played with, climbed on, tried out, and probably used much more creatively than we originally imagined during product development.
For us, that's incredibly exciting.
How do the products look after several years?
What works particularly well?
Where do signs of wear appear?
And are there perhaps details that we can improve in future products?
You don't get such insights from an Excel spreadsheet or a meeting room. You have to see the products where they are actually used.
New products personally in tow
Of course, we didn't arrive empty-handed.
We also had a new product with us, which immediately started "working" at the family resort's swimming lake. I personally hoisted 5 pieces of the new Chill Oasis from the trailer with Florian, the owner of the resort, in the summer heat and placed them around the beautiful swimming lake. It makes a difference whether you ship a pallet somewhere or bring the products yourself and see directly where they will be used later. And what can I say? The Chill Oasis was an immediate hit, not just with my boys.
This closeness is what we like at Jupiduu.
Because behind every one of our products is ultimately the same question: Do children really have fun with it, how is the product used, what else can we improve?
When you can directly observe on site how children react to shapes, colors, and play ideas, product development suddenly gets a whole different perspective.
And while you're there...
... it would of course have been a shame not to use this backdrop for new Jupiduu content.
A family hotel full of play possibilities, children in motion, and our products right in the middle – you can hardly show our brand more authentically.
So we photographed, filmed, and tried things out in between. Not in a sterile studio, but right where Jupiduu belongs: in the middle of family life and also on family vacation.
What "workation" means to us
For us, "workation" doesn't necessarily mean simply moving your workplace to a nicer location.
It means much more to combine work and family time when both naturally fit together.
In this case, that meant:
Delivering new products, looking at existing products after years of daily use, gathering inspiration for future ideas, producing content – and at the same time spending a few really nice days together as a family.
So yes: it was work.
But pretty nice work.
And perhaps that is our personal definition of workation à la Jupiduu. 💛 When I look at my boys' faces, I think we did everything right.
