Summer is back for more: How to make the next heatwave a highlight
Just when we thought summer was coming to an end, the weather forecast is showing sunshine and temperatures well over 30 degrees again. For families, this means: get out and about before autumn takes over. With a few simple tricks, the heat turns into pure summer fun instead of stress.
Water is the new toy
Whether it's a garden hose or the Jupiduu pool in the garden – nothing brings cooling and good mood faster. A few rounds of splashing, throwing water balloons or simply running barefoot through the sprinkler: water is the best playmate there is in summer.
Timing the sun cleverly
Between 11 am and 3 pm, the sun takes no prisoners. The morning and late afternoon, however, are perfect for romping, climbing and jumping outdoors. A look at the clock before the pool party starts saves sunburn and bad mood alike.
Don't forget shade and drinks
A sun sail over the pool or a shady spot at the play area – short breaks from the scorching sun are good for every child. And a colourful drinking cup always at hand: water or slightly diluted juice spritzers keep you cool from the inside, even if you don't feel thirsty yet.
